According to Wikipedia (which we all know is *always* factually accurate :-)), after graduating from high school, Kelly Clarkson moved from her homestate of Texas to Hollywood, in pursuit of an acting career. She played small parts in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," "That 70s Show," and a film called "Issues 101."

After just four months in Hollywood, her apartment burned down, so she returned to Texas and worked at a bunch of crappy low-paying jobs...until she auditioned for American Idol and became a huge star (and one of my favorite singers).
