Did you know...That if you take a two liter plastic pop bottle, and put about two ounces of dry ice inside of it, then pour about a cup of water inside of it......and twist the cap on tight....it will go pop! A very BIG pop, about 200 decibles. It takes a couple of minutes to detonate.

Re: Big pop!
Tue, December 19, 2006 - 10:45 AMThat's so weird, my boyfriend's friend brought a huge cooler of dry ice home over the weekend and in it went into the pool in a closed Crystal Glazer container.
That pop was HUGE!

Re: Big pop!
Sat, March 3, 2007 - 9:17 AMnot really. the molotov cocktail does not actually explode under internal pressure. the idea is to break the glass container against the target, thereby spreading the accelerent (usually gasoline) which is ignited by an attached burning thing; rag, stick, waterproof match, etc.
wine bottles work much better than soda pop ones, btw.

Re: Big pop!
Mon, March 5, 2007 - 7:39 AMYea, I've thrown Molotov cacktails. It's interesting how the gasoline wicks up through the rag without igniting the resivour. More fun was to make a pipebomb. Match heads are a supurb replacement for gunpowder. I use to make them out of sissy bar, (from a bicycle sissy bar). crimp one end of about an 8" piece. Fill it with cut off match heads, crimp the other end. pour some lighter fluid on it and ignite. It takes about 30 to 45 seconds to explode. A charge that size will blow a hole about 10" in diameter in the asfault. Lots of real shrapnel though, very dangerous.
